Inspekt is a property inspection service provider firm in the United Kingdom.

The company’s mission is to help the tenants to save on their deposits and landlords protect their property.

The company works on two models i.e. direct relationship with the renter or landlord and a partnership with the real estate agents.

Also, the company owns a digital product to inspect the property on your own with any external support.

Project Scope

The client call started with numerous comments on the old design of their existing site.

The client ‘Terry’ was not happy with too many colors, a boring layout that misses on trust factors, and most importantly broken links.

Our goal was to revamp the site completely & give it a fresh new professional as well as modern look with a clear brand message of ‘Perfection in Property Inspection’.

→ Redesigning the platform with an improved UI
→ Focused on attracting investors
→ Talks about all the products & solutions

Challenges

→ Focusing on two sets of the target audience
→ Combining blue and & green in a professional way

Outcomes

The final deliverables included a sitemap, styleguides, UX design, and UI design.

With on-time deliveries & continuous client feedback, we were able to complete this project in 6 weeks timeline with development & deployment.

The output was loved by the client. The feedback received after the final design was very minimal as the client was with us in each phase.

Styleguides

Based on our discovery session with the Inspekt team, we managed to come up with three different styleguides, i.e. Mild, Medium, and Spicy.

Although our choice was to go with the complete vector approach (to be modern), the client decided to go for the raster approach.

Inspekt - styleguide

The reason was simple and most of the client customers were in their mid-30s and were looking for authentic & credible property inspection service providers. So,

1. Blue for authenticity
2. Green for vibrant CTA
3. Raster for professionalism
4. San-Serif fonts for cleanliness
5. Simplicity throughout the design

UX Design

Based on the approved sitemap, we were supposed to build the UX for 18 pages with a copy that is focused on attracting investors & clients.

The UX for this web app was simple when compared to our other clients. The only catch was to address two different set audiences (landlords & tenants) from one design.

We were also supposed to attract investors as well as real estate agents who can partner with them and fetch them more customers.

Another small addition to the UX was a popup form to collect leads instead of redirecting the user to a form page & losing them at the load time.

UI Design

Lastly, in the design phase, we were supposed to build high-fidelity designs with interactive prototypes for both desktop & mobile devices.

As per clear request, we went ahead with the mobile-first approach. The UX or mid-fidelity screens were combined with the approved styleguide with a proper design system in place.

We faced multiple challenges with combining the green with blue but somehow our designers found the sweet spot and made it work.

Again, the best was simplicity in design that made the entire website easy to use & understand.

Tools and Technology

The final outcome was loved by the client. The entire project was closed in 6 weeks timeline with development, deployment, and backend training.
