NEO based banking app that makes your life easy

branchX is a financial institution that offers multiple banking solutions in India and across the middle east. The primary product for branchX is Raja Rani combo cards for families.

They also have other offerings including the Distributor App for DMT, BBPS, Travel, Insurances, etc., Gold investment with Sona card, Enterprise Solutions, and the Corporate Payroll app that comes with a Neel card.

Project Scope

It’s been a while since we started working with them. Things kicked off with social media content creation and took a turn after looking at our creativity skills.

We have designed their mobile app, corporate portal, agent app, brand collaterals, marketing collaterals, brand guidelines, and almost everything that requires design.

Goals

→  Designing the voice of the brand

Challenges

→  Handling 2D & 3D vectors and Neumorphism together
→  Robust design system & components
→  Co-ordinating with 4-5 other teams

Outcomes

A total team of 5 members including 2 UI Designers, 1 Collateral Designer, 1 Content Creator, and 1 Project Manager were continuously involved in the project.

We make sure to deliver everything on-time to catch up with the launch dates. We are still in contract with the branchX team, they love our work and we love them.

Styleguides

Based on our discovery session with the branchX team, we managed to come up with two different style guides. As the colors & logo were already defined, we did not experiment much.

There were two designs, one was a dark theme and another one was a light theme. Everyone was aligned with the light version with metamorphism and 3D vectors.

Following are the attributes for the selected style guide:

1. 4 colors representing 4 branchX cards
2. Noto Sans (for Indian language support)
3. 3D vectors for creative design
4. Happy children and family for emotional connection
5. Use of curves for friendliness
6. Dual color & image style icons

Collaterals

Let it be brand collaterals or marketing collaterals, we have to take care of everything.

Starting from branchX card kit to leaflets, standees, email signature, pitch deck, etc.

Guidelines

Finally, we jump to creating a brand guide that can be used by the client & other third-party vendors to maintain brand authenticity.

UX Design

As the project is under NDA, we won’t be able to talk about the branchX agent or corporate app. Feel free to reach us in case of doubts.

For the mobile app, we did around 220 screens. This included eShop, rewards, branchX banking, KYC,  gold investment, lending, and payment solutions.

We also worked on the UX of the branchX site which was 22 pages. This whole activity took multiple iterations and around 20 weeks to complete.

The entire activity was divided into two phases i.e. LFD & MFD. After a couple of feedback rounds, all the screen UX was finalized by the branchX team.

Lots of addition were made to the app & site to enhance the promotional and user retention rate.

Finally, we went ahead with the HFD.

UI Design

Lastly, in the design phase, we were supposed to build high-fidelity designs with interactive prototypes for both website and the mobile app.

The UX or mid-fidelity screens were combined with the approved style guide with a proper design system in place. It was a time-taking activity as there were 100s of icons and images.

We faced multiple challenges while choosing images and combining them with 3D vectors and neomorphic. However, our designer managed to pull the rabbit out of the hole.

The outcome was loved by the client. Finally, the design handoff was done to the development team.
